Djordje Davidović - Serbian accordionist, awarded several times by Mayor of Niš (Serbia) and laureate of “St. Sava prize” by Ministry of Education of Republic of Serbia as one of the most successful young people in Serbia in 2013, - is a special artist-accordionist who always fascinates the audience by his performances.
He was born in 1994, and since five he expressed interest for music and accordion. He finished basic school as well as high music school in Niš (Serbia) in a group under Professor Tijana Jovanović with great international results. He continued studies at Konservatorium Wien (Vienna, Austria) in a group under Professor Grzegorz Stopa where he impressed the mentor by his talent. Djordje has realized numerous performances in several countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Macedonia, Greece, Italia, Russia, and Austria. He played in some of the most prestigious concert halls, among them in MUPA (Budapest, Hungary) and Musikverein (Vienna, Austria) in 2015.
His career is characterized by numerous fascinating successes at international competitions, and some of the most important should be mentioned: Winner of International competition Akkordeon Art (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2012), Winner at 65th Junior Coupe Mondiale (Spoletto, Italy, 2012), 2nd place at National World Trophy – as the youngest competitor in category age 18-32 (Samara, Russia, 2013), 1st place at international competition (Beltinci, Slovenia, 2014), 1st place at International competiton in Osaka (Japan 2015) in category DUO, 1st place at Vienna FIDELIO Competition (Austria 2015).
The most impressive with this young artist is fact that he on top level equally plays two types of accordions – piano accordion, and button accordion. It means that his repertoire is various, starting from music of Baroque and Romanticism, over classic pieces composed for accordion, up to modern music and traditional national music of Balkan region (East Europe). He has attended masterclasses of some of the most eminent professors and accordion performers: Pavel Fenyuk and Vladimir Murza (Ukraine), Miljan Bjeletić (Serbia), Petar Ralchev (Bulgaria), Jovan Pavlović (Norway), Teodoro Anzelotti (Switzerland). He collaborated and played with some of them, and he also successfully played with great artists in other instruments. Two concerts in Hungary with trumpet player Marko Marković (Serbia), as well as performances with Petar Ralchev and some of well recognized accordionist and composers of traditional Serbian music (Bata Kanda, Ljubiša Pavković) were remarkable. Also, Djordje participated with colleagues from Konzervatorium in performing the opera The Rake’s Progress (I. Stravinsky). He held four humanitarian concerts for people with disabilities in Austria. He is active member of association Live Music Now Yehudi Menuhin in Vienna.
Djordje Davidović plays on accordion built by Bugari, model "BAYAN SELECTA" which is custom crafted with a new construction system of the wooden box. The result is an extraordinary acoustic performance with powerful harmonics and deep sound. A very special and accurate work has been done to optimize the acoustical balance between the treble and bass side, inspired by the principle of the piano, imaginatively divided into 2 keyboards and positioned on the player’s chest an accordion.
